Meet Our Team
Behind every strong neighborhood alliance are the people who make it possible. Our team includes dedicated agents and support staff who share one goal: protecting the safety, character, and integrity of Orem’s neighborhoods. From community outreach and research to communications and petition drives, our volunteers and staff work together every day to ensure your voice is heard.
Why?
We formed the Orem Neighborhood Preservation Alliance because our neighborhoods were changing in ways that threatened the very values that make Orem Family City USA.
Short-term rentals (STRs) were bringing a steady flow of strangers into family-oriented streets, creating noise, traffic, crime, and instability. Instead of safe, connected communities where neighbors know and trust one another, we began to see homes turned into mini-hotels—eroding the character and integrity of our neighborhoods.
Our group was created to:
- Protect families by keeping Orem’s neighborhoods safe and stable.
- Preserve community character by preventing commercial STRs from undermining residential zoning.
- Ensure accountability by demanding stronger enforcement of existing city laws.
- Give residents a voice in city decisions that directly affect our quality of life.
We came together because we believe Orem should remain a place where neighbors look out for one another—not a revolving door for transient rentals.
How?
The Orem Neighborhood Preservation Alliance is more than just a group of concerned residents—we are a movement of neighbors committed to action. Here’s how we’re making change happen:
- Petitions & Advocacy – Gathering signatures and showing city leaders that residents overwhelmingly oppose illegal short-term rentals (STRs).
- City Council Engagement – Attending meetings, providing public comment, and holding leaders accountable for enforcing zoning laws.
- Community Awareness – Sharing updates, newsletters, and alerts so every neighbor understands the impact STRs have on our safety and stability.
- Collaboration – Working alongside law enforcement, city staff, and other community groups to strengthen enforcement and protect family neighborhoods.
- Legal & Policy Action – Supporting stronger ordinances and ensuring existing laws are enforced without loopholes or exceptions.
Together, we will preserve the character, safety, and integrity of Orem’s neighborhoods. When neighbors unite, we can—and will—make a lasting difference.
